MAC-Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, San Juan, Puerto Rico, intervention made during a workshop of Boclé and Art Student at MAC, during the exhibition of the video and sound installation "Tu me copieras" at MAC, group show "Caribes Globales La creacion caribena contemporanea".
The artist takes the place of the Master, the students, aged 18 to 25, occupy the place of children at school: "As you know, I'm from Martinique. My school books never mentionned the "Code Black" signed by King Louis XIV, but I had to know by heart the number of rooms that has the castle of Versailles, built at 7000 km of me, to the east of our current position. This is adult and out of any institution of knowledge transmission that I had access to this text. You had the weekend to read the 60 articles of the "Black Code". Take a sheet of paper and fill it with words, You have one hour!"

L'artiste occupe la place du Maître, les étudiants, agés de 18 à 25 ans, occupent la place d'enfants à l'école: "Comme vous le savez, je suis de la Martinique. Mes livres d'école n'ont jamais fait mention du "Code Noir" signé du Roi Louis XIV, mais je devais connaître par cœur le nombre de salles que compte le chateau de Versaille construit à 7000 km de moi, à l'Est de notre position actuelle. Ce n'est qu'adulte et hors de toute institution de transmission des savoirs que j'ai eu accès à ce texte. Vous avez eu le week end pour lire les 60 articles du "Code Noir". Prenez une feuille de papier et remplissez la de mots. Vous avez une heure ! "
